Speak to Me Speak to me of memories, When laughter filled the air. Remind me of those moments, May your words take me there. Speak to me of seasons past, Those carefree hours of youth. The Man in the Moon and Fairy Who left a nickel for my tooth. Speak to me of times gone by, Running barefoot through spring rains. Playing in piles of Autumn leaves, And hand strung clover chains. Speak to me of innocence, Mama’s soothing lullabies; Bedtime tales, teddy bears And rainbow colored skies. Speak to me of simpler days, Before the trial at hand. Catching fireflies in mason jars And building castles out of sand. Speak to me of long ago, When life seemed without an end. Dandelion seeds blown free, And the world of let’s pretend. Speak to me of yesterday, Shadow puppets on the wall. Soaring high on tire swings And tears when we would fall. Speak to me of tomorrow, For today my burdens lie. ‘Tis not my wish to leave you, Nor my choice to say goodbye. Speak to me although unseen, Know time will heal your pain. Join me on the other side The day your burden’s lain. |
