As Fragile as a Bird
Tragedy, death, courage
and despair,
My inner feelings were torn so violently,
I was unable to conceive the reality. I wasn't there,
Yet my tears flowed with over whelming sorrow,
I felt so useless to help from afar.
Powerless, safe and isolated,
Indifferent to the politics about,
I watch countless innocent lives end,
In a split second, as quick as a blink,
Thoughts now start turning to war.
I pray for peace, love and understanding,
For our world to live hand in hand,
Forget the fight for greed the total power,
Let us seek harmony and live in friendship,
Who could ask for anything more.
Do we forget how fragile we really are?
As that of a bird that soars on the wing,
We are not so great, circling and often lost,
Our thoughts of war destroys body and soul,
Amid this vast universe we are smaller than a bird.
