To all who rose to face the day and gave all that they could.

In the wraiths wake,
one cold september morn'.
The courage and the selflessness,
of simple men was born.
Community, Fraternity stirred,
as pain was felt by all.
As decent men and women,
thro' the rubble trawl'd.
No hint of colour, race or creed,
as to aid they raced.
No sign of fear or thought of ego,
as danger they did face.
This evil act, brought out the best,
tho' not the wraiths intent.
Oh heroes all, who stood the test,
and love did re-invent.
I remove my hat and bow my head,
kneeling now I pray.
Oh lord thank you for the strength,
you gave to them this day!
